What is the price of an Ecoflo septic system?
Let’s say you’re in the market for a new sewage treatment plant.
Maybe you need a secondary treatment unit to follow your septic tank. Or maybe it’s a tertiary system to improve the quality of effluent from another wastewater treatment plant.
You’ve done your research and landed on the Ecoflo biofilter. It ticks all your boxes. It’s compact. It needs no electricity to treat your wastewater. It’s long term. And best of all, it’s sustainable thanks to its coconut husk filter.
Looks great, you say to yourself. But how much does it cost?
Search no further! Premier Tech Water and Environment is the manufacturer of the Ecoflo biofilter, and we have the answers you need.
What does the price of an Ecoflo septic system include?
We’ll break down the cost of an Ecoflo septic system in a moment. But first, let’s look at what’s included in the price.
The prices we share are estimates of the total cost of your septic system project, not just the Ecoflo unit. Why? Because we want you to have the most complete and useful information when planning your budget.
Depending on your needs, your total project cost may also include the purchase of a septic tank or another type of wastewater treatment plant. It will also include these related expenses, which are part of any septic project:
- design services, including soil percolation tests and standard drainage designs
- planning permission fees
- building control permit fees
- materials
- installation
- commissioning
What do we exclude from our estimates?
Our estimates of the total cost of an Ecoflo project exclude the installation of electrical points. The Ecoflo biofilter is energy-free, but if your septic system requires a pump, you'll need an electrical connection.
We also exclude the cost of additional drainage designs if your system needs to be diverted around elements such as underground utilities, existing buildings, water bodies, wells, or protected areas.
Cost ranges for the Ecoflo sewage treatment plant
The Ecoflo biofilter can help you meet UK wastewater regulations in one of two ways:
- Secondary treatment: The unit receives effluent from your new or existing septic tank and cleans it to a higher standard.
- Tertiary treatment: The unit receives effluent from another wastewater treatment plant and polishes it to meet the most stringent environmental standards.
The price of the Ecoflo biofilter is the same for both secondary and tertiary treatment. However, the model you choose and the ease of installation on your site will affect the total project cost.
Total costs for domestic Ecoflo projects
Domestic Ecoflo models for off-mains applications such as residential properties and holiday homes are available for 5 to 20 PE (population equivalent).
Assuming your site has permeable soil, a gentle slope and easy access, the total cost for a domestic Ecoflo project ranges from £8,000 to £18,000 (excluding VAT).
If your site is more complex, don't worry. Our team can find a solution to any challenge and provide you with a personalised quote.
Total costs for commercial Ecoflo projects
Commercial Ecoflo models for off-grid applications such as hotels, holiday parks and glamping are available for 26 to 200 PE.
Again, if we assume your site has permeable soil, a slight gradient and easy access, the total cost for a commercial Ecoflo project starts around £28,000 (excluding VAT).
It’s OK if your property serves more than 200 PE or your site’s conditions are less than ideal. Contact our team and we’ll give you a custom quote based on your unique needs.
