How do our pump stations work?

Residential

Our GRP pumping stations, for residential applications, collect sewage, water or effluent and then reliably transport it downstream for treatment or final dispersal. They are supplied with a single pump as standard and can be installed at any point of an on-site treatment system.

Each station has an on/off float that moves up and down as water levels change inside the tank. When the float rises to a predetermined level, an integrated effluent pump begins to run. After discharge, the on/off float moves down with the falling water level and the pump stops running. All of our residential water pumping stations can be supplied with a single or a dual pump. Our 1,800L, 2,800L, 3550L and 5,300L pump stations can be supplied as single phase or three phase and as low, medium or high duty. Isolation valves and non-return valves are fitted as standard.

Please note, as per the building regulations, the minimum daily discharge of foul drainage should be calculated as 150 litres per person per day for domestic use.

Commercial and municipal

Our large-scale horizontal pump stations are designed specifically for the rigours of commercial and municipal wastewater treatment projects.

All models feature an alternating dual-pump sequence for maximum reliability, and a control panel that gives you complete command over pump operations.

In addition to lifting wastewater to higher levels, these solutions can be used as equalisation tanks to dose and regulate flow to downstream components. This unique feature reduces the overall size of a sewage treatment plant and protects the system from shocks caused by hydraulic fluctuations.

Maintaining your pump station

By carrying out regular maintenance checks on you pump stations you can extend the life of your water lifting system. Potential blockages and unanticipated flow periods can be quickly identified which can in turn can prevent potential floods, wastewater pollution and even site closures.
