What is a forecourt separator?
A forecourt separator is a specialized type of full-retention separator.
It is designed to retain the maximum spillage that is likely to occur at a gas or petrol station, fuel storage depot, scrap yard, or similar location.
These systems are essential infrastructure because they enable commercial and industrial properties to comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Count on the Rewatec forecourt separator to get the job done right. With a glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) tank that resists corrosion, our high-performance solutions retain up to 10,000 L — exceeding the volume of an entire fuel truck compartment.
Where are our forecourt separators used?
The Rewatec forecourt separator is most often a solution for:
- gas and petrol stations
- refueling facilities
- fuel storage depots
- garages and workshops
- scrap yards
How do our forecourt separators work?
Contaminated stormwater enters the forecourt separator through the main inlet pipe.
The system allows solid particles to settle on the bottom of the tank. It holds the liquid portion of stormwater long enough for fuel and oil to separate and rise to the surface. These pollutants are safely retained until they can be extracted according to local regulations.
Decontaminated water then passes though a coalescing filter before being discharged from the tank.
All Rewatec forecourt separator models have fail-safe features. A high-level alarm triggers when the maximum retention capacity is reached. An automatic closure device also comes standard to keep accumulated pollutants from flowing through the system.
